Founded in 1998, SWM Wood is a stand-alone production unit based in Mikkeli, Finland. This independence has allowed the company to work closely with key supplier sawmill operations to ensure that the best possible and most suitable raw materials are used in their high quality thermal modification. All of the raw material used by SWM Wood is from 3rd party certified FSC or PEFC sources.
Our business is predominantly geared to support UK importers and merchants. Through a hybrid stock position, we are able to offer competitive rates for forward, direct ex-mill loads, as well as servicing pack lots from landed UK stock meeting “just in time” requirements. Additionally, we support and direct architects and specifiers towards stockists of added value products such as cladding and decking.
No chemicals are used in the production of Thermowood® or Noir® products making them environmentally friendly and fully recyclable.
